Does anyone know of any good qaulity books that teach you how to use throwing knives. I am very interested in learning how, but i dont trust customer reviews on a website as much as i trust your guys opinions.

I teach knife throwing and conduct expositions at SCA event. A good book is the Gil Hibben Knife throwing book, and varius works by Throwzini.
.
I throw with a "no-spin" technique myself. Throwing the blade flat instead of on edge. The knife still spins, but at 1/3 the rate of an edge throw.
.
Hope that helps

I originally learned to throw knives by watching youtube videos and practicing more than usual. I didn't know how my parents would react to my ability to throw knives so I practiced in secret behind our house in the woods. One day my dad found me throwing knives. I thought it would be all over when he pulled the knives out of the stump I was using for a target. But when he came back to where I was standing with the knives from the trunk he looked almost indifferent. He got to where I was standing, spun around and threw all three knives at the same time. Two of them stuck in and one sliced a gouge out of the bark as it flew by. From there I learned to throw knives from my dad. But in case you were wondering, it is possible to learn from youtube videos.

yeah, I kinda agree with you on that one arty. If a picture is worth a million words, what would a video be? Haven't played knife throwing recently. Last time I did I was still stuck at just 3 metres(Yeah I know people even stick things at 10m). And even so, I miss alternately. A lot more misses when I get tired and start to lose focus.

btw Thats one bad ass dad you got there.

it may come or it may not. But its not just zeds that may ruin your life

wow, literally 45 seconds worth of googling and I found a long list of booklets. I personally taught myself from this
one

I learnt whilst doing HapKiDo.

This is my friend Mikah. We've been throwing together for the last couple years. He's a world class tomahawk thrower, and swept all 6 throwing events at the last National Cold Steel Challenge in Ventura, CA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-u0V-x0rfs. He's also one of the most own to earth, genuine people that you'd ever want to meet. If Z-Day comes, Mikah is my go-to Recon man.

YouTube is an excellent source for learning. I suggest checking out Choson Ninja's Shuriken Throwing tutorials.
As far as books go, there are FREE books you can get online in PDF format. Here are some links with said books to consider reading and learning from:
M.E. Peters-Knife Throwing Techniques of the Ninja.
Power Throwing.
Master the Knife by Dr. Ted Gambordella.
I hope these help and I would urge all to take proper safety precautions when
practicing the skills in these books.
