Are there other uses for a clothes hanger?

I was doing my laundry this morning and suddenly went into medium deep thought about the clothes hanger I was holding. Yeah, its light. Its small. And the fat that it forms just a flat plane makes it easy to slip into anywhere. You can just fit it into a bag without making much difference.

Putting aside these attributes for now, what if we can find a good use from it. Cant think of any other uses for it rather than hanging clothes. Got any ideas?

A wire coat hanger, battery cables, and a car battery will make a good welder.
You must rapidly touch and remove the coat hanger on and off of the work piece since the battery doesn't supply alternating current. The amperage is enough to allow the hanger to be the sacrificial media to get hot enough to bond with the metal.

Why don't the Presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

For fixed or folding clothes hangers drying clothes, sock and underwear... Wooden ones can have the hook u.screwed and turned into a large eyelet screw. Use the wood as kindle.... Using an unscrewed hook you also got a graplling hook for fishing, retrieving lost keys down drains and so forth.... Plastic ones with the recycling code can be melted and altered to a new shape. Check out my article for more info on the recycling codes...giant bubble makers with detergent... Pants hangers can be used to hang anything with their clips, saving room in the Bob while you dry your socks as you walk... Caltrops...
I've only ever thougjht about the wire ones that can be untwisted into a long length. You can segemnt them creating many wires with simply bending and unbending many times to create a weak point which eventually snaps.... Caltrops... Using them in place for an am ft radio aerial (not sure on others), by straightening the hook and place the new spike down where the original aerial stood.
By untwisting.the wire you effectively have a good strengthed wire. Great for car lock picking and if the car has a firewall go thru the rubber of the door. ( use on own car only until z-day). Otherwise the new question would be how many uses can you think of for a piece of wire? But to be honest, depends on wire type and length...
The wire coat hanger can be sterilized and used to retrieve bullets.
All coat hangers can also be used on a speed line to transport goods from high ground quickly.
I plant to throw in some pegs and a single pants hanger with clips into my Bob.

Metal hangers are extremely bad for use as any type of surgical implement. Leaving a specific heated topic out (and it better be left out of discussion) there are a ton of deaths related to hangers being used as makeshift surgical implements. You are better off putting on a glove and digging the bullet out with a finger.

I was leaving lock sport on purpose as well as its obvious and not recommended, because a twisted hanger can land you up to 1 year in jail in IL. Its also slow and clumsy which always draws attention.

You could make a directional EMP discharge device aka "Jacob's Ladder". Warning in the US you could face federal charges as just like a rail gun the components are common and easily obtained, but its still a destructive device and technically a state secrete. Not sure how common knowledge is a state secrete, but firing one could land you 30 years in prison. So don't.

Cheap chainmail. Learn how to make it and do it. Practically free and works great as a slash resistant material.

Dowsing rods. seen them. never thought to use hangers for them. My understanding is that a thicker metal is wanted.

but seriously, hangers have almost TOO many uses. Seriously, how many BILLIONS of uses can you find for a piece of wire?

Here are a few uses I've had for them:
Roasting spits for hot-dogs and marshmallows
boot dryers you place over heating vents
hanger + plastic bag = net
to jimmy the lock on a locked car (my keys were inside)
as a grappling hook to reach things in tight spaces (think about what happens when you loose a sock behind the dryer)
to fish drain pipes
many uses in gardens

really, I could go on and on and on.

ooh! I forgot my favorite uses! Drying varmint hides!

Back scratcher.
