Just as the topic statement says, this topic was created with the express intent for members to request the writing of particular articles and/or stating the need for certain content in article format. In lay terms, if you want to see some kind of content, request it here so that someone else knows about it. You may inspire someone to work on something they had been considering or even help the site (and by proxy, yourself) by sharing your ideas.
So, if you feel there is a need for a new kind of article, make your suggestion here.
As an example of how to use this topic:
Member 1: "I think there needs to be an article about (X)."
Member 2: "Hey, I did a book report on that in high school and still have the information, I think I could write it."
Member 1: "Cool, can't wait to read it!"

A few thoughts over the past week or so:
*I have yet to see an all-purpose "how to sterilize" article, or forum post, that goes into the various methods of sterilization and how each method is best applied.
*Rule #1: Cardio. We have almost no information on it. Whether it means distance running or swinging an axe for an extended period of time, cardiovascular fitness is something you need to have(and maintain) to have a hope of surviving when flesh-hungry monsters are chasing you down. There are obvious solutions, of course; go running every day, go chop wood for awhile, etc. But, for those of us with busy schedules, it's sometimes hard to find even an hour out of the day to get a workout in. So, the idea here is a short, intense cardio routine(s) that can allow one to quickly build up and maintain a level of fitness that allows you to easily run a mile and do other cardio-intensive tasks with ease.
*Lastly, I feel like we should have a lot more "make your own..." articles. For example, I'm currently working on "How to make saline solution for contact lenses". A lot of the things you'll need but can no longer be bought can likely be made with relative ease.
Just some thoughts. We need more content, so I thought I'd throw out a few ideas. Many of these are likely easy enough to research, so even if you don't know a lot about the topic, there's no reason to shy away from writing an article if you are so inclined.

Ok, well that's tricky. to really sterilize something you need to make it devoid of all life, viruses, prions and viroids. This means you actually have to destroy proteins. Many materials just cant stand sterilizations. I think your thinking about an article that talks about "sanitatizing" and microbial management and removal.

Yeah, that probably is what I mean. Mostly the idea would be how to get rid of all infectious agents that can cause disease on most materials.

Ok, i'm writing that thing. Just gimme like six more weeks to get started. My Micro class should be finished and i can start writing a really in depth article on sterilization. I think i'll have to cover basic types of infectious agents and microbes though...
i think i'll do something like serialization theory, and modern sterile fields, and ideas for sterilizing in emergencies and post modern distopias.
ok, well again, you can't always remove ALL infectious agents from .... you know what? fine. I'll write that article. :P
Gimme some time though. I really have to buckle down in my Microbiology class. After i finish that class i will know even more about microbes and management of, so i should be better at the article i'm going to write. So put me down as "writing" and i'll see what i can come up with.
This is going to sound stupid but...I'm clueless about cars, all I know is were the petrol (gas) goes and what the engine looks like lol so I'd like to see an article, or even a post on basic vehicle maintenance, how to change a tyre etc. I know it should b common knowledge, but some of the most common things we usually miss to discuss.
I don't drive but if I had to I would Id just b more comfy knowing how to keep a vehicle going long enough to get me to my desired location...especially if I have to cross the desert.
Also siphoning gas out of other vehicles (I know how to, never tried it though) but, just something to add?

I concur; I feel like someone was working on this awhile back but never got around to finishing it.
On a side note: for anyone who feels as though they have some knowledge of anything posted here but doesn't have the know-how(or the time, or whatever) to write a full article, feel free to post it as a wiki page.
