I made this melee weapon from old garden sheers and and old pipe lying around the tool shed,

I was thinking what could I make right now for a weapon an out break occured, Since I do have a welder, I'm not about to cut up my good equiptment right now lol so this was just junk lying around.
The weapon is 57 1/2 long has 8 inch blades and weighs 7 pounds and has a clothline shoulder strap.
I did try it out on some brush in the back , it did slash quite well, stabbing was ok. it does require effort to swing it around upper strength
I did have the kids try it out there complaint was it was too heavy, and they were intimated by the blades being sharp and wanted guards for it?
other than that they like it. But again there not use to using tools where strength is required and skill at swinging.
It did take a bit for me to get the handles somewhat in position as I was unsure really where to put them so I did it from a resting position of dangling my arms stright down, and what moves the weapon could be used in to make it effective, the weapon works best in a slashing senerio or upward thrusting has forward and backwards attacking. has good weight for using to push zombies forward giving some fighting space, handles keep hands and arms out of bitting range. The blades could break and replacments could be welded back in or hammered stright if bent, easy sharpened, the blades are long enough to puncture into the skull say from the bottom of the chin and driven up wards into the brain. Slashing is good for dropping zombies in pertaining to there movement of attacking and speed in which they attack. I doubt it will lobe off there heads
The cons- The blades are not tempered steel-have a tendicy of bending when removing from say stabbing into a log could break as well, slightly heavy, slightly ackward in getting use too weilding around and carrying around as in shouldering needs blade covers, does rquire radius space for swinging 5 foot radius.
