While I was at work I was thinking about all the waste that a normal household generates (don't ask me why, work is sooooo boring!), both human excrement and also all the waste from packaging, scraps etc...

My question is what will happen once toilets stop working because there is no running water; what will happen to all the household waste such as scraps etc...
I know leftovers such as vegetable pealing can be used to make compost for farming but more importantly a large amount of waste can attract rats and disease neither of which will be desirable post z-day.

Just wondering if anyone else has considered this subject?

Agh. That's scary...and disgusting but I see your point.

I was wondering the same thing the other day, me and my dad were talking about the way we thought the world was going to end -- weird I know we have these conversations alot D:
Anyway, he said 'what would happen if the power went out ALL over'

Well, we'd be screwed. There would be no water, the toilets wouldn't work, we wouldn't have light, etc, etc.

Now imagen being in a Z-Day situation like that. Complete and utter chaos.
People would literaly be KILLING for fresh water, and this would affect eveything around it.
So, yes. I'm not sure what would happen but I cringe to think upon that situation.

Well dig a hole, or add it to your compost bin. Fertilize your rooftop garden or build an outhouse. Humans survived for millions of years without the help of Mr. John Crapper. My advice bag your feces and throw it at the zombies like monkeys in a zoo, show them who's more evolved. At any rate, you will finaly know the answer to the age ole' question, " Does a bear shit in the woods?" Don't know, but you will.

Heh.... Careful with the feces. Everyone else has mentioned disease and like. Parasites in the food are no fun either. Do us a favor if you're using one of those weird toilets with sawdust. Burn your poo.

In the service we have what's called a 4 hole burnout. Its an outhouse with a bucket or a 55 gallon drum cut in half. When it fills up with doo you fill the rest with diesel or whatever flammable you have handy and away it goes. If you've seen Jarhead, that is true to life.
