Assuming that ammunition would be scarce, and that every member of your group might not have access to specialised clothing or equipment, how would you carry different type of ammo?
Would your group (if you find yourself with other survivors) just stuff their pockets with any caliber or type of ammo as they scavenge? Or would you have some other method of sorting as you go?
Just interested, as someone who lives in a non-gun-friendly country, what the preferred method might be. It would probably make sense to collect anything you find in case you can use it in the future, but then you'd end up with quite a selection of bullets and shells, if you're lucky. And you probably don't want to to be rooting around in a big sack when you need some ammo.
Maybe plastic Ziploc freezer bags?

Well, usually when i am out hunting deer i only carry what is in the magazine and in the chamber. However, nearby i keep the box the ammo came in. post ZA-day i would likely carry a satchel (think Indiana Jones or MacGyver) and have whatever ammo i pick up in there.
For my every day CCH i carry that with the Smart Carry holster. That lets me have my normal magazine with 13+1 plus a spare magazine with 15.

That seems funny to me, that you would carry less ammo for your handgun but I guess it balances out when you consider the primary weapon you use.

I don't understand what your trying to say, chil. My deer rifle is 3+1 in the chamber. My handgun is 13+1 and another 15 rounds in the second magazine. That's EDC. If i need more ammo after that, I've really f**ked up.
Come ZA day, i'll have a LOT more 270 rounds with me, if i haven't gotten any other firearms before that time.
