Darkest Of Days is a videogame that's coming out on PC and 360 pretty soon.
The basic idea is you are Alexander Morris, one of General Custer's Colonels, the game starts with you fighting in the battle of Little Big Horn and being the last one alive only to be rescued by a man who just arrived through a time portal.
You were selected by a company from the early 22nd century to go through time and right incorrect events in the timeline, basically saving people who are not meant to die.
There's a whole other part to the plot but I'll leave it out.
Basically it is a game in which you are sent through time to dozens of different battles and wars, from ancient Rome and Pompeii through to the World Wars.
To spice it up if you get sent to Ancient Rome etc. you get to take along an Automatic toy and as such they built the plot around this to give you a sole excuse to wipe out hordes of spear weilding Romans.
I've played the PC demo and I can tell you nothing is more fun than running around in the Civil war with an Automatic rifle.
