Alright guys, pretty soon I'm looking at getting broadband (and, therefore, Steam) on my desktop computer - for those who don't know, I use my phone to access the net at the moment.
Once I have Steam, I really want to attempt to make a Left 4 Dead map. I intend to put a lot of thought and effort into it (e.g. Making it look realistic, making it challenging but completeable, using the lighting well, etc.)
Here's where you guys come in... I'd like to know what you guys would like to see in a L4D map. For example, one of the more popular custom L4D maps is called Dam It! and centres around (you guessed it) a dam.
So, let me hear those ideas!

What would be a location you think would be a bad place to be in/have to go through/have to get to if/when the zombie apocalypse hits? What would be a location that you would like to see a zombie movie/zombie game set in? What would be a location that would provide interesting challenges/advantages in a zombie apocalypse?
Yeah, I thought about modelling a map after my University Campus... I'd love to literally model it after MY campus... but, to do that, I'd need to know the layout of the entire campus... making a fictional campus could be fun though...
what about an island? Ruffly a small one with maybe a hotel. Or something in the snowy season, you don't see much of that.

I like the idea of incorporating a hotel into it somehow. The island idea is an interesting one, though it'd be extremely difficult to show off the fact that the map is on an island whilst still making it linear (L4D maps are generally based on linear designs, disguised to look nonlinear, because they become too confusing otherwise.
AAANYWAY
Back on topic... It seems like the majority who responded like the idea of a college. Now, each L4D map/campaign has a clever title and movie tag-line combo. For example (for those who haven't played it), in the first campaign you need to fight your way to Mercy Hospital for a roof-top helicopter rescue. The campaign and movie tag-line are "No Mercy" "Curing the infection, one bullet at a time."
So, think along these lines; what would be a clever name + tag-line combo for a given situation (might get people coming up with other ideas). Ideas centered around a college would be great (seeing as that's the way this seems to be going)
