Think you guys might get a kick out of this

This is a little something I created to, among other things, entertain me... Now I'm thinking up new ways to maim and torture zombies (for profit, of course ;) )

That looks pretty fun. My brother likes to make monster traps using water and cacti. This game looks like tons of fun, but I don't have a computer to run it. If I end up getting it, I want to get it now while it's still in beta before the price goes up more. Yay for free updates!

I will grab fate by the throat; it shall certainly not crush me completely.

Wow. Looks like it took a while to set up.

It actually didn't take all that long - 10 to 15mins, tops. Like I say in the video, its not complete yet; I still have to tinker a bit but, yeah, that much can be knocked up pretty quickly. I cut a considerable amount of time out of the build by making an infinite water source (how handy would that be for real zombies? ;)) right next to it.

Yeah, I've been tempted to make one using cacti and one using lava. The only issue is that both cacti and lava destroy items that touch them.

Luckily, I got the game like 2 days before it went to Beta, so I paid less than $10 for it and will get all the updates (including the full release) for free. The game is DEFINITELY worth what Notch is charging, though; I've easily had my $10s worth

When does it come out? WAIT, don't tell me, I got Google.com
Cool vid, Thanks for link!

Not a problem. Its actually the first vid I've ever made so I'm glad people like it =)

So, I've been thinking... there have been a lot of ideas posted on ZPI for zombie traps. If there's anything you guys would like to see in action (on minecraft, though... so not 100% realistic) feel free to request something and I'll make it and do up a video - always on the lookout for a bit of inspiration!

So 2 things I've really mastered is the "Spawn Room" and the "Panic Room"

The Spawn room has a steel door an floor switch only leading out. The walls are covered in BOBs that give you an entire set of basic equipment when you break the box including a tent (24 cloth, 4 fence posts) Armor, oven, workbench, one of every steel tool, compass, bucket, fishing rod, stack of torches, bowl, fire starter and a stack of grain. Basically you die and want to go right back out on adventure you just grab and go.

Panic room is an obsidian room with a wood and steel door. The floor switch closes the metal door behind you and the switch on the inside locks it. The box just inside the door has 2 obsidian and a diamond pick in it to seal the door behind you. There is lightstone floor on top of the obsidian and outside the obsidian is lava on 4 sides except a small 1 block hole that leads under the room to the the dynamite lined killtrap of a hallway. On the far end of the entrance hallway there is a metal door that is locked when you tripped the lock for the main door. The hall is jacketed in dynamite and lava on the other side of the cobble stone. If they dig they die. So here is the kicker in the room there is a switch behind glass that must be broken to use. The sign reads. "For emergencies, revenge or fun Break glass". Leaves a giant gaping laval filled hole between the 2 doors. Also in that box there is cake. Its not a lie its really in there.

Haha love the ideas there! I'm a bit hesitant to use TNT in any traps as none of the mobs really pose enough of a threat to warrant using it.

I'm tempted to make a minefield though, where I just make a 1x1xhowever-deep-you-want-it hole, put water in the bottom, put TNT in the top (level with the ground) and put a pressure plate on top. Stepping on the pressure plate causes the TNT to activate and drop. The mob and the TNT fall down into the water. In water TNT deals damage to mobs and the player, but not to the environment. So the mob is killed but the shaft is undamaged and the trap can be reset. That would only be for fun though, as TNT doesn't grow on trees and (naturally) can only be used once.

What I did with my spawn (since I didn't like the location) is place an obsidian block beneath my spawn (so I'd always know where it was) and then I build my main minecart station around it. That way, if I die, I spawn in my "train station" and can catch a "train" to any of my locations - to my mine where I died to collect my stuff, to my bank if I happened to accidentally bathe in lava and lost all my stuff, etc.

Only issue is that I've decided to scrap the design I had for the guts of my main station, so at the moment I'm in the process of pulling it all apart and redoing it, so none of it works.

There are worse things than mobs. like griefers.

On our closed server we import only our most epic constructions. So we'v got chinese manners, japanese towns, aspen lodges and a mega monster spawner.

...As you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7OTx4KZT8c
My main minecart station is the second one (my spawn is just to the left of where I come in to the platform).
