Anyone else tried the new Call of Duty Game? It has a Zombie Battle Scenario where you battle waves of Zombies that come thru 4 or 5 entry points through out the level. You can buy different weapons as you earn points by shooting, blowing up, or stabbing the dead walkers as they come after you. You can also take the action online(main reason I am posting this) and team up with 3 other people at the same time!!! If anyone else is on XBox Live search my Handle and we can kill 'em all!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't take this game seriously.
Half of the weapons in the game weren't even on the drawing board at the time depicted, or they never made it past prototype runs that you could count on a meat packers left hand.

The wonderful thing about fiction!!! The last 5 COD's were pretty accurate as far as technology and timelines go, and for $60 a game, I prefer the future weapons to kill the commies with! Thats just me, I guess.

Build a man a fire, you keep him warm for a day.
Light a man on fire, you keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Yes... wait are you telling me a hedgehog can't spin really fast and take off like a cannon ball? I have now lost all faith in video games, son of a bitch.

To Call Me a Simple Man is a Compliment

I haven't got enough time to play the game yet to determine whether you're actually right about most of the guns not even being thought of yet. I know at least some of them are time accurate, such as the FN FAL, M14, Galil.. that's really all I remember. I'll get back to you on that.

No, but those are set in their own universes that are utterly unique compared to ours.
BLOPS is set in a parallel universe, story-wise; it just breaks immersion to have these things in a game set back in the 1960's.
It's like playing an extremely historically accurate medieval game, only to have your character pull a shotgun out of his/her pocket.
Sure such a thing is great for about 5 minutes, but it just breaks the atmosphere.

Though I agree with slash a bit, as running around with G11's and Walther WA 2000's among other weapons with extremely small production numbers is a tad ludacris, as far as I'm aware it's set in 1945-1980's, not 1960's.

The latest date the game is set in is 1968, the earliest being 1945 in WWII flashbacks.

Lots of those medieval games have people that shoot fireballs from their fingertips, fire crossbows at 100 rounds per minute, etc...

Not really the best comparison. :p

Imagine how terribly this game would be selling if it didn't have those weapons in it.

I can't see how that could be, considering the monitors and computer terminals etc. are certainly not circa 1960's, the wa2000 is from the 70's, Zork was written in 1977–1979; the g11 was developed during the 1970s and 1980s.

Either way, lots of timeline fup up's.

How seriously can you take a game that at the end has John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon and Fidel Castro, teaming up against unlimited amounts of zombies, who just so happen to make it through all the defenses at the pentagon?

No matter how the times may change, the truth that I embrace will always remain the same. Evil will be extinguished like a candle flame. I believe this. Aku (Slay), Soku (Evil) Zan (Immediately)... And I'll stick to it til the day I die.

I don't play hardcore because everybody and their mom camps. Last time I played it was on Modern Warfare 2 and my score still managed to be high thanks to random nading and "pro's" who were stupid enough to stay in the same spot they camped and shot people from.

As for huzkes comment, it's a toss up, I like the modern weapons associated with the zombie maps on black ops, because lets face it, trying to deal with that Arisaka on World at War, was a pain. At the same time, Modern Warfare 2 flowed better for me. I liked the storyline better, but it was more difficult than black ops on higher difficulties. I also liked the fact that unlocks were free... Whoever figured this purchasing system was a good idea, needs to be drawn and quartered because it makes the game boring. I'm all down for customization, but allow it with the unlocks and let extra stuff cost experience points or whatever. I got all excited when they said complete customization of your character and gun, then when you get the game, its the same old boohockey. Only 2 attachments allowed, etc... Here I was wanting my Famas with a reflex scope, duct taped mags and an M203... Can't do it....I was sad. lol

I think there is a lot of good and bad things about Black Ops. I bought it because it's going to be the most widely played FPS game and most of my friends already have it. It's a lot more fun for me at least when I have friends to play with.

As for the weapons, there are all kinds of jacked up things which I will touch on only slightly.

- The M16 for example can kill someone in anywhere between 1 to 6 bursts to the chest.
- The M16 is more powerful silenced.
- The M14 and FN FAL take just as many shots as a lesser caliber gun to kill someone.
- Guns of the same caliber doing more damage than each other excluding fire rate.
- The ratings on damage not being accurate in game.
- The sniper rifles are trash and are almost never one shot kills.
- You cannot really fully customize your gun, as you cannot change stocks, barrels, etc.
- Secondary weapons cannot be customized enough, and you can only get 1 attachment.
- The 9x18 Makarov does more damage than any other pistol of larger caliber except Python.
- There are no machine pistols, which really disappointed me.
- In fact there is not a very good selection of secondary weapons at all.
- Someone can be shot in the head with a weapon one or more times and they do not die.

All these things withstanding, the I find the game pretty fun. I try to look past the unrealistic factor. Lets face it, 12 year olds wouldn't ask their mom to buy it for them if they actually had to have some skill to play the game. You can pretty much spray and pray with a certain amount of aiming and get a positive K/D ratio. I actually use the semi-automatic weapons to make the game more challenging. With that being said, the semi-autos aren't very good because it still takes a ridiculous number of shots to take someone down.

This is the reason I play hard-core.Learn to deal with the people that camp, then the fact that they dont move becomes an advantage.

If you kill them once and your sure they're dead, kill them again and be dead sure.

I cant stand regular game modes,if I hit you with a half mag of 9mm you should drop. Not spin and quick scope me.
Hardcore is far more realistic, due mostly to the increased damage.Campers are a non-issue,and ussualy arent acctually camping at all, when people lose they tend to inform me that I camp.
It is a common occurance.
The problem with this statement is that I do not in fact camp.I constantly move and shoot.I have a game in my fileshare on Firing range where I went 42 and 5.

The reason people think camping is rampent I believe is also ,due in part to,the lack of a kill cam.

I will be back around my 360 at the end of this week,I expect to have a few invites in my inbox:)
