Khukuri House Thamel - Service No. 1 Custom: Beater Test.

Total votes: 2

So, I got my khukri a while ago, a few months I think, so this test is long overdue.
I'd already taken it out camping and bush bashing and was satisfied with it, however I didn't have a camera on hand, but today just proved its immense worth.

The first object for the grinder was an old chipboard door, still in good condition with no weather damage and about 20mm (4/5th of an inch, roughly).

And here's the khukri in near showroom condition (1000 grit sandpaper, a polishing rag and a bit of oil does wonders).

AA 3-in-one emergency beacon

I bought one of these this week after looking for something similar and failing to find anything better for the price. It is worth mentioning I bought it from work in a sale and with staff discount so it cost me £6.74 rather than the £8.39 + delivery.

The features:

Magnetic end to stick it to your car etc - very useful if you need to work under the bonnet or to stick to the roof or side of the car when using the beacon.

The leatherman Wave is a multi-tool many of you have. I was actually dissuaded from buying several different multi-tools including the LEatherman MUT. This tool kit has come in handy in the year that i have had it. First off, i need to add that i did buy the optional belt clip and lanyard.

Frost Cutlery "The Scout II"

I rescued this little knife from a rusty fate in my dads shop a year or so ago and have been playing around with it recently. It's pretty cheap, but i've decided to give it a test go during deer season this year and see how it holds up. If it holds it's own, i might be tempted not to replace it.

Coldsteel Kukri Magnum Machete

As the come out of the box, it will need sharpening. Take off the black epoxy coating and give it a proper edge and it's going to do a lot better. Secondly, the handle can get pretty grating on the hand, so rubberize or wrap it in para-cord to make it nicer on your hands. Lastly, the sheath sound fairly useless, especially once you put an edge on it, as the knife will cut through the sheath.

The Credit Card Companion by Tool Logic

Total votes: 7

Recently I picked up The Credit Card Companion by Tool Logic a last minute impulse purchase. My wife was off shopping and left me alone staring at a aisle full of knife. I have already amassed a collection of survival bowie knifes, work knifes, and pocket knifes of various lengths and number of blades. Generally if I am wearing pants I am carrying a knife on me. Most of the time I carry a small 3 blade Case bone handled knife that was gift from my father.
